Westinghouse 4-loop
The Westinghouse 4-loop is a Generation II pressurised water reactor from Westinghouse Electric Company. 28 units are operating and 0 are under construction, out of 30 on record.
The largest Westinghouse plant and the workhorse of the United States fleet. Four loops, typically around 1,150 MWe. The ice-condenser variant at D. C. Cook, Sequoyah and Watts Bar replaces a large dry containment with a much smaller one packed with borated ice, which condenses steam after a break; it is cheaper to build and has been the subject of a long argument about hydrogen behaviour in severe accidents.
