The only uranium conversion plant in the United States. Honeywell idled it in 2017 when conversion prices collapsed below cost, and restarted it in 2023 as the market tightened after the Russian invasion of Ukraine. For six years the US had no domestic conversion capability at all — the clearest illustration of how thin this stage is.
