Idaho National Laboratory EBR-II downblending
Idaho National Laboratory EBR-II downblending is a haleu facility operated by US Department of Energy in United States. Its capacity is not publicly disclosed.
The government's own source of HALEU, recovered by downblending highly enriched uranium from the spent fuel of EBR-II, a fast reactor shut down in 1994. It is the reason the first advanced-reactor demonstrations have any fuel at all, and it is not an industry: the inventory is what it is. Alongside the Savannah River downblending campaign, this is the entire American supply until new enrichment capacity arrives at the end of the decade.
